Team GB started their Olympic campaign with a 2-0 win over Chile as the women’s Olympic #football tournament got underway in Sapporo, Japan. Ellen White had her first goal disallowed after just 10 minutes, before scoring the opener just seven minutes later. She then popped up in the 73rd minute to score her second, and secure the win for Team GB!

BBC Team GB’s Medal Moments from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Team GB had a successful Tokyo 2020 Olympics matching their medal total of the London 2012 Olympics of 65 medals. This makes the 2020 Tokyo games their second-most successful overseas Olympics after Rio 2016. They claimed 22 golds, 21 silvers and 22 bronze medals in Japan.

Jason Kenny successfully defended his keirin title to become the first Briton to win seven Olympic gold medals.
